In the Kingdom of Mercia Hereford was a key defensive outpost in the borderlands between England and Wales.
Hereford is only one of five cities in England to be designated an Area of Archaeological Importance (AAI) On this walk we explore why this is the case by identifying the visible areas of Anglo Saxon Hereford and Medieval history.
